To experience joy, pride, happiness, nervousness, delight, pleasure, anxiety, anticipation, awe and a multitude of other emotions in the space of a couple of hours usually happens to people on a handful of occasions in a lifetime and most often involves something along the lines of the birth of a child. Proactive Fitness has only been open for a little over a year and already it is expanding and bringing you a whole lot more! Owners Mathew and Michele Browne always seem to be striving to improve their gym and they continuously introduce new classes to keep it in line with current fitness trends. The gym is now double the size offering more space, more resistance and cardiovascular equipment and a new circuit system.
The beautiful artwork of Terry Kobus can now be viewed at the new Originals Art Gallery and Framing at Shop 22 Royal Centre, 141 Main Road in Hermanus, opened by Terry and his partner, Roelof on the 1st July.
When I heard that Zumba, the new Latin dance/fitness phenomenon had hit Hermanus, I knew I had to find out more about it and give it a try. Marlene Loots is the energetic, passionate force behind the Hermanus Zumba fitness classes. She first heard about Zumba from friends in Cape Town who had experienced Zumba classes at Virgin Active and were hooked. Marlene is a qualified aerobics instructor and did modern dancing in her youth and says that fitness and dancing have always been a passion of hers, so it made perfect sense for her to become a qualified Zumba instructor and combine her two passions.
Did you know that Onrus has a new coffee shop, conference facility and business centre? It’s the brainchild of Marita Lamprecht who wanted to create "a place where people feel 'at home' in a relaxed atmosphere where they arrive as clients and leave as friends".
